I am gobsmacked at the details, luminous dial at night, waterproof, beautifully put together. I feel joyful just looking at this precision timepiece. This won't leave my wrist.
I am proud to show off this watch. It makes me feel good. In this time of techno over indulgence simplicity has its place. If I sat down and wrote the specs for my perfect watch this would exceed my expectations.
My beloved Seiko kinetic watch was just getting too battered after years of good service. I don’t need a digital watch - I have enough Apple devices already! And I want a timepiece that won’t need replacing every three years or so as new and improved models come on stream. I found Redwood watches and instantly loved the simplicity and robustness. The only dilemma was which model? In the end I went for the plainest model - easy to see the important stuff - the time. And with a solar mechanism should last years without having to replace a battery. So far Redwood has delivered!
i got this a year and a half ago and for some reason put it aside as i was buying other stuff. grass is always greener. after my buying sprees petered out i realized this beat anything in the category with lume that actually lumes, subtle domed crystal, 40mm (that's come back into vogue) classic olex/udor styling and a bezel with no backplay...plus 1000m water resist...that's the ballgame. no nonsense dial of luxury divers, very nice size tactical crown. after putting it aside after i got it, it's like i've a new watch now, and i love it!
Firstly, I bought my first Redwood about a year ago. It’s a Pilot A-13. I love it. It’s versatile, keeps good time and is just a nice clean look. A+. I wanted to get a stealth style watch, so went back to the well at Redwood and got this Kilroy. On its own, it’s fine, but compared to the A-13, it’s far less substantial. It’s a thinner, lighter fit with lesser band, and that sort of cheapens it a bit for me. Not sure it’ll see nearly the action my A-13 does. Honest take from a Redwood fan.
I mean, it’s a field watch. Plain and simple. I can’t say anything negative about it. This company is great and they are fast to respond if you reach out to them. And The fact that they put Kilroy was here on the back of it is the cherry on top. I love it.
Great usual mil-spec strap but what I like most is the colour, rescue red, it looks bright so stands out more than the watch.
I got this watch for my boyfriend for his birthday. He absolutely loves the vintage look, and the fit is perfect. We got the tan leather strap as well as the olive one, he really likes both and changing them is very easy. Super happy with this purchase, would recommend.
The watch is very accurate. It would be even better if a Jubilee strap were available for purchase.
Hadn’t heard of the brand until recently, loved the look online and after much deliberation chose the green strap version which I love. If I was ordering again I’d have ordered a brown strap aswell, even though I’ll never use it in the great outdoors, I just love the look of it
Love the watch meets all my needs . It’s easy to read in a split second.but if you can make a ladies version that would be great
I ordered two. One for a friend in Vancouver for his birthday. One for my self because I liked the looks. This is my first solar powered watch. My collection has only been automatic watches. This watch is much lighter. It is easy to read. Good lume. Very accurate-only lost 1 second in one week. I am wearing it on nato strap. To make this nice watch even better the case height could have a thickness of 9.5 to 10mm without sacrificing durability or water resistance.
As a maritime engineer and out in the ocean for weeks it's good to have the solar. No batteries or any weak mechanical that gets damaged in an Engine room. Thanks Redwood for your delivery. The most common sense watch I ever had.
It keeps time well. It’s stylish for most everyday situations. I love the solar power. Now I don’t have to change a battery, remember to wind it or find a way to keep it moving when I’m not wearing it so it continues to operate.
I would buy a dressier version of this for special occasions.
Pros:
Solid Construction
Numbers visible in dark conditions
Easy to read
Has Date
Great Styling
Cons:
Need to wear this watch (automatic type) almost daily to keep from needing to reset. Might have gone with battery or solar instead.
This watch checked all the boxes: look, size, fit, functionality, wearability. Day or night. This watch is an excellent field watch. Proud to wear it.
...you have to read the display at night. This Kilroy Ghost is a beautiful piece. I'm proud to wear it. It is clearly crafted by excellent watchmakers. I liked it so much, I got a Kilroy Black Solar-- and I love that watch! All that to say, I'm surprised that the watch hands are very difficult to read with the face glowing at night. They all kind of blend in...like ghosts. Perhaps next versions will have darker hands to see against the white and/or illuminated face at night? Keep up the great work, Team Redwood!
