Prototype - Pilot Type B (Automatic)

The Type B is based on the WWII B-Uhr, the observation watch supplied to fighter pilots. The original was 55mm, and this one is a wearable 40mm. This prototype was built before the solar version and runs on a Miyota 82S0 automatic movement. It has large minute numerals, sword-shaped hands, a flat sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance. The caseback is engraved in the style of a government-contract watch. It comes on a gray mil-spec ribbed nylon strap.

About prototypes & samples

This watch is a prototype or sample that was designed and built by Redwood but never released to the market. Please read the following before purchasing:

• Final sale. We do not accept exchanges or returns on prototypes and samples.
• Fully functional. All watches are tested and in working order.
• 24-month warranty. The standard Redwood 24-month warranty applies to the watch’s functionality.
• Condition. Prototypes and samples are new but might have been used for photography and/or media reviewing, so they may show minor scratches or signs of wear. The photos on this page show the exact watch you will receive.
• Differences from production models. Prototypes may differ from the final production version in details such as dial color, finishing, movement or specifications. The description on this page applies to this specific watch only.
• Limited availability. Each prototype is a single piece. Once it’s sold, it’s gone.
